At Home Instead we believe that the right people join our team at just the right time. This was certainly the case with Maria in January of 2022. A family needed a Care Pro to join their team who could serve overnights and who would have an understanding of mental health needs. This older adult needed constant one on one attention in her long term care home which included overnight care. Maria made it work with her own family to offer two overnights every week for one client’s care. Along with raising her family, Maria went on an educational journey in mental health and addictions to improve her skills as a Care Professional. This training was precisely what our client needed.

Months later her client took her by surprise with a heart-felt expression of gratitude - she let Maria know she appreciates her understanding of her disability and her patience and sincere empathy. We agree! Maria’s work with our clients is incredibly generous and kind.
